Johnson's Island Civil War Cemetery
Johnson's Island Civil War Cemetery
Even if you are just slightly interested in the Civil War, you will enjoy this well kept federal cemetery on a tiny residential island in northwest Ohio. To get there, travel on the perimeter road east of Port Clinton on the Sandusky Bay side. Watch for a very small marker to herald the entrance to the causeway leading to Johnson's Island (the cost is currently two dollars/car to cross the causeway). There will be a sign directing you to the cemetery.
Once there, you will be surprised by the fenced in rows of white grave markers that are almost all in very good condition. This area is listed as "Ohio's most significant Civil War site". The Confederate Prisoner of War Depot was rapidly built early on in the conflict labeled the Civil War. The first prisoners arrived in April of 1862. Twenty-six Confederate generals and future generals were imprisoned on the island.
History has it that they were treated very fairly at the beginning of the conflict but later on rations were greatly decreased and the facilities were overcrowded. There is a museum dedicated to preserving the history and artifacts of the camp located in Sandusky at the Ohio Veteran's Home.
Archeological studies continue at the cemetery. There is a chart showing graves wih markers and those burial sites that are unmarked but verified as having human remains.
There is a large handsome monument erected by the Daughters of the Confederacy in 1910. The monument serves as a memorial to honor the service of these men.

Bermuda Island
Bermuda Islands are an archipelago in the Atlantic and one from the British area.East of North Carolina, one of the USA states.
They became known for the Bermuda Triangle and Bermuda pants.
Bermuda was discovered by a Spanish explorer, but due to dangerous reefs surrounding the islands did not dare to disembark on the shore.
The first settlers were English colonists who were on their way to Virginia and after a shipwreck 1609th disembarked on the island. Shipwrecked on the island have spent 10 months and their reports of the island in England caused a lot of attention, so King James I 1615th given the right to control Bermuda Islands Company. About 60 settlers 1612th founded by St. George. 1620th set the first representative government and thus became an independent colony of Bermuda.
If you are designing a beautiful over-the-top vacation of a lifetime, do continue to pursue Bermuda. It truly has all the ingredients of a perfect vacation.
There are 34 beautiful beaches in Bermuda, and all of them are so unique in their own ways, many with unbelievable pink sands.
This island has such a nice temperate climate almost throughout the year.
Bermuda is not a single island. It has a string of some 180 small islands around the main one. The total area is under 21 square miles. So you can imagine how tiny many of these islands are. Only 20 of these are actually inhabited and just seven are joined by bridges and causeways to the main island of Bermuda.

People that come to Bermuda are always interested in the housing, which is comprised of cement block in order to preserve the native coral limestone. The architecture has been adapted to withstand the hurricanes and extreme winds Bermuda experiences.
Famed for Bermuda shorts, the original Bermuda onion, and of course the Bermuda Triangle, the island's tourism has grown significantly over the last 50 years.
If you like to dive, we have no doubt in our mind that Bermuda can offer all the elements for the best of diving experience. Breathtaking marine life, lush corals, shipwrecks... they are all here in Bermuda waters.
Bermuda's pink sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, offshore reefs and the Royal Naval Dockyard are major attractions.
Of note: It is not possible to rent a car on the island, so in addition to walking the pleasant streets, many travelers choose to rent a bicycle or scooter.
